Fast and Furious Scrapping!

The class on Saturday was fast and furious! We had a lot of fun, but it is really hard to finish 50 pages in 3 hours, so we didn't. We're planning to meet again and finish up this week. I want everyone to have a completed album so they'll be all ready for December 1st.

Also, we had planned to discuss ideas of photos, journaling, and items that would be good to add to the album, but somehow the "speed" scrapping took over and we didn't get that done. So... please email me with your ideas and I'll start a listing here! That way even if you didn't get to take the class, you may get some great ideas for your own album.

Here are a few ideas I came up with of things I would like to add to my album:

Baking cookies
Christmas lights
Packing shoeboxes for Operation Child
Christmas programs at church and school
Boxes of Christmas decorations before they are unpacked
Family/Church/work Christmas parties
Decorating the tree
Decorations inside and outside your home
Creating Christmas crafts
Christmas caroling/carolers
Wrapping gifts/wrapping paper and bows-one of my favorite pictures to take on Christmas morning is of all the wrapping paper mess after the gifts were opened
Family, family, family
Christmas collections such as snowglobes, snowmen, Santas, etc.
Special food dishes you only have at Christmas-each year we have what we call a Pull Apart for Christmas breakfast. I think some people call it Monkey Bread. I make it on Christmas Eve and put it in the fridge to rise. It is popped into the oven before we start unwrapping gifts and then it is ready to eat when we’re finished.
Favorite gifts given and received
Letter to/from Santa

For the gals that are working on their albums at home, looks like I didn't get pages 13-15 posted. Here is Page 15.

Apparently, I didn't manage to get photos of pages 13 and 14. I will try to get that done sometime today! Off to the real job this afternoon.

December Daily Book is Done! Yea!

Wow, a major sigh of relief here. Finally, finished all the pages in my December Daily Album. Now onto getting all those pieces ready for classes. Here are pictures of the rest of the finished pages.

This is the first page. It has a snowglobe! I actually saved making this page for last, because I was afraid it might not turn out like I imagined. I'm so glad it did!

Here's a close-up of the snowglobe. It has Antique Silver German Glass Glitter inside. So very sparkly!

December 16-October Afternoon paper, Wendy Vecchi-Studio 490 stamps, Maya Road chipboard, May Arts Ribbon.
December 18- Pink Paislee Paper, Creative Acrylics Star, Glimmer Mist, and Pink Paislee Stamps

December 19-Pink Paislee Paper, Maya Road Calendar Sheer, Brown Copper Glitter Snowflake from Walmart. I love using things that aren't found in the scrapbook section!

December 20-Heidi Swapp paper, Making Memories Paper, Elle's Studio journal spot, Jenni Bowlin Bingo card, Scenic Route stamp, and Star Garland from Walmart. Can you see the cute little paperclip on the Bingo card? We are going to make that too!
December 21-Creative Imaginations paper, American Crafts ribbon, Pink Paislee stickers, Holly placemat from local Grocery Warehouse.
December 22-Stitched cardstock by my Mom, Oct. Afternoon papers, Making Memories stickers, and check out this tag. Tim Holtz would be so proud!
December 23-Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Screens, Oct. Afternoon stickers, May Arts lace, Heidi Swapp Chandelier Crystal, mini envelope from the local greenhouse. :) This also has a Prima Glitter Transparency sheet between the pages. This looks really blue in the photo, but it more green in real life.
December 24-Copy of a Vintage Christmas Postcard, Pink Paislee Paper, Karen Russell papers
December 25-This page is done on felt so it will be in a page protector. The tag has more Wendi Vecchi, We R Memory Keepers and Tim Holtz stamps. Also, red and white bakers twine and Making Memories ribbon. The right side is a baseball card protector for photos. I plan to add more of these later.
December 25-Left side closeup.
There you have it! I hope you can join me for one of the classes. The dates are this Saturday at The Scrapbook Tree in Vincennes and Sunday, November 15, at the Doodlebug in Jasper. We're going to have a lot of fun!
I have had some requests for kits. Unfortunately, I don't think there is anyway I can do this as a kit without the class. There are tons of stamped images and lots of techniques that makes mail order kits impossible. Also, I am only going to have a limited number of spots available for the classes and the way things are going right now, all the kits will be gone. Sorry!
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Latest December Daily Album Pages

Hi gals! Here is a look at some of the latest pages for the December Daily album. I'm about to get to the end! I'm stopping at Dec. 25 like Ali does. (Notice I am calling her by her first name like I know her. I did meet her once! I have a picture of us together actually.) I am planning on adding a few of the picture holders in the back for extra pics and I can always make a little journal square and add it in one of the spaces. For those of you that are taking the class, your numbers will go to 31 and there will be extra matching paper available at each store if you decide to go onto the end of December.

This is Page 1. I used an acrylic ribbon slide that says Tis the Season. I love the font used on this. It is like the Peanuts cartoon. I also used Paper Trey's Holiday Button Bits stamps for the holly, Creative Imaginations paper, and an Elle's Studio mini Christmas Flash Card.

And Page 17. More Creative Imaginations paper, Pink Paislee Paper, and the Santa is another image from the Holiday Button Bits stamps. Here is a close up...

How stinkin' cute is this? I love the way he is 3-dimensional! And if you happen to be a Copic girl, bring your Copics along to color him in. I used colored pencils. I am so trying to stay away from the whole Copic thing! I do not need to start anything else! They are really pretty tho and when you use them you don't have lines. I don't need them, I don't need them!

Ok, heading to town to check on Mom. She is stitching on a couple pages. I'm so lucky she doesn't mind helping. Also, on the hunt for some Christmas confetti. Another idea for this book. You gals better rest up before heading to class. We're going to have lots of things going on!

One more thing...

Look what greeted me when I headed out to take pictures a little bit ago. New kitties!

A Couple More Pages

Happy Friday! Here are a couple more pictures from the December Daily album. Whenever I take on a project like this, I always wish I was one of those people who gets things done and out of the way ahead of time. Not me! No way! I hate that about me. I have had lots of ideas in my head for a long time. I don't know why I couldn't just go ahead and get them put together.
Anyway, here are the pictures...

This page was taken directly from Ali Edwards' album last year. I love the idea of being able to add photos of Christmas decorations around the house. It is hard to tell, but there is a business card holder in front of the Around the House file folder to hold your photos.

This pic shows one of the many envelopes and pocket pages I plan to include throughout the album.

I'm actually posting these from Washington DC. I'm off in a few minutes to my first of many sessions. I hope to head out this afternoon to do a little sightseeing. The weather is supposed to be nice today and rainy tomorrow. We flew into Reagan National Airport and from the runway you could see the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, and the Capitol Building. How cool is that! I took some pics last night of the hotel. You should see this place! It is like its own little city.

Have a great day!

December Daily Class-Sneak Peek

Hi gals! I wanted to post a couple of pictures of the December Daily class that is coming up soon at The Scrapbook Tree and The Doodlebug! There is a ton of stuff in this! I told Ladonna yesterday that this might have to be a weeklong class instead of an afternoon! :)

This is the cover. We will be using a 6"x6" D-ring American Crafts Album. I wanted to make sure we had something sturdy so that your albums would last a long time! For the cover, we are using Studio 490 stamps, Tim Holtz Grungepaper, metal flowers, and Distress Inks, Making Memories glitter paper, and Creative Imagination trim. Whew! No wonder my scraproom looks like a tornado hit!

I'm still waiting on my order to come in for what we are going to put on the very first page, but here is a peek at the pages for December 2nd.

Here's a close-up. Don't you love that little Maya Road kraft envelope? There is a Creative Imaginations tag that fits right in there for extra journaling. The paper is Making Memories flocked snowflake paper and the big acrylic snowflake is from Creative Acrylics. It is hard to tell, but you'll use some Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and a Silver Leaf pen on that! The large number 2 was already printed on the paper.

Ok, one more and then I gotta go get busy on more pages! This is page 8. the little Christmas tree is a playing card and when you turn it over it is the 8 of Hearts. The paper for these pages is October Afternoon. Mr. Brown and I have become fast friends the last couple of weeks! :)

I hope you are having a great week. I'm headed to Washington D.C. tomorrow for my real job. Wish I could pack up my scraproom and take it with me!

Becoming Autumn Layout Kit

Good Sunday Morning! Looks like we are going to have a beautiful day today. I guess it is trying to make up for the cold, rainy weekend.

Becoming Autumn Layout Kit

Here is the latest Shabby Pink layout kit, Becoming Autumn. This kit uses lots of goodies from the Little Yellow Bicycle Autumn Bliss line. The papers in this line are beautiful, actually everything is. The papers and Journal Tablet are really thick and have somewhat of a gloss finish. The clearcut shapes are also very good quality. There are lots of greens, burgundys, oranges, creams, and blues. Choosing which items from this line to purchase was a hard decision.

Contents of this kit include: Little Yellow Bicycle Autum Bliss papers, both 12x12 and diecut pieces as well as layering pieces, a complete package of Autum Bliss Clearcut Shapes (30 in all), a complete Autumn Bliss Journal Tablet (26 sheets), a Shabby Pink transparency, Bazzill cardstock, and jute. (Hey Robin, I remembered the jute this time!) The price of the kit is $12.50. When you purchase this kit, you will have a lot of extras for additional fall layouts too!

Autumn Bliss Clearcut Shapes

Autumn Bliss Journal Tablet

Side Note-I had a lot of journaling I wanted to add to this layout, but couldn’t find the perfect place. So, I added my journaling to a couple of the journal sheets from the Journal Notebook and attached to the back of the layout. I am trying to decide if I want to add an arrow in the bottom right corner pointing to the right or not. Maybe I’ll just hope someone finds it as a surprise someday!

Since you will have lots of left over embellishments from this kit, we have added a paper pack too. You will receive 2 sheets of both the Autumn Argyle/Blue Linen and the Brown Leaves/Cream Tonal papers, 1 sheet of the Decorative Edge Cardstock with Metallic Accents and 1 12"x12" sheet of Bazzill cardstock in Yam. The price for the paper pack is $5.50.

Autumn Bliss Paper Add-on Kit

Miss Delilah is once again the focus of my layout! One thing I love about fall is getting to wear jackets and sweatshirts and so I was anxious to get photos of Miss Delilah the first time we went for a walk and she needed hers.

I plan to continue working on the December Daily Album class this afternoon. I have had several requests for photos! My "real" job is sending me to a conference in Washington D.C. starting Thursday of this week so I've got to get with it!

Have a great week!
